The New York Times article Study Suggests Meditation Can Help Train Attention discusses a 3 month study on meditation done by the University of Wisconsin, Madison. The study followed new and experienced meditators focusing their attention on breathing and releasing their thoughts. The results indicated that meditation improved their brains allocation to attention.
I haven’t scientifically studied the impact of meditation; however, I have seen the results. It’s amazing to watch people change their lives when they add meditation to their wellness practice. Physical exercise, eating quality foods, enjoying positive relationships, and having a strong personal relationship with oneself creates a positive self image and a love of life.
My personal meditation practice is designing and implementing an internal compass – where I learn to trust my instincts and explore my personal boundaries. Knowing myself and discovering what makes me tick decreases others’ influences over my actions and gives me the strength to be unique. Learning to love and honor myself is an internal journey that only I have the power to walk. Meditation guides my attention and helps me enjoy the simple things in life.
It’s my time to help others go within and discover their personal power. Join me in meditation. Where two or more gather, miracles happen.
